C & C 3:Tiberium Wars Demo for Xbox 360
on Friday 20 April 2007 - 11:08:30 | by =BnT= CavemanUK

Quote:

"For the Brotherhood! I am a huge fan of the Command and Conquer series. That’s why I am so excited to read on the EA forums that the C&C3 demo will be hitting Xbox Live TOMORROW. This incredible week for Xbox 360 owners just keeps on improving, as the marketplace continues to fill up with quality downloads.

The demo will be identical to the one released for the PC. So expect a few campaign missions, and a single skirmish mode map. The much talked about alien race will not be present in the demo, but the other two factions will be available.

C&C3 has gotten great reviews for the PC, and it will be interesting to see how EA has changed it for the console. EA managed to change our view of console RTS forever with The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-Earth II last year, so there are high hopes that they will continue the trend."

Apple fixes 25 security flaws
on Friday 20 April 2007 - 11:05:29 | by =BnT= CavemanUK

Apple has issued a security update for Mac OS X that addresses 25 security flaws affecting various parts of the operating system, including some third-party components such as the Kerberos authentication technology. The most serious of the vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to gain complete control over an un-patched Macintosh, Apple said in a security advisory. The update deals with another trio of zero-day bugs that were disclosed as part of the Month of Apple Bugs in January. While several of the vulnerabilities repaired by Apple's updates were previously known, it doesn't appear that any attacks exploiting the flaws actually occurred. Apple has released a Mac OS X security update each month this year. Last year, the company released two Mac OS X updates in the first four months of the year. The latest update is available through the Software Update feature in Mac OS X and from Apple Downloads.

OSX Leopard delayed until October
on Friday 13 April 2007 - 13:17:58 | by =BnT= CavemanUK

Apple has today announced that the release of MacOS X 10.5 Leopard will be delayed until October due to the development of iPhone.
iPhone contains the most sophisticated software ever shipped on a mobile device, and finishing it on time has not come without a price -- we had to borrow some key software engineering and QA resources from our Mac OS® X team, and as a result we will not be able to release Leopard at our Worldwide Developers Conference in early June as planned.

Apple goes on to state that while Leopard will be feature-complete by WWDC, they could not "deliver the quality release that we and our customers expect from us." As if to demonstrate that point, Apple recently released a new build of Leopard which continued to contain a long-list of known issues.

Developers will be given a "near-final" beta copy of Leopard at the Worldwide Developers Conference in early June.

After literally hours of programming, we have implemented a cool new feature to the forums. We call it Dynamic Signatures... basically, if you dont have a signature defined in your profile, our forum will automatically make one for you.

It changes colour/style depending on your user status and looks quite fetching!

To use it you simply have to do.....nothing! its automatic...so what are you waiting for?? make a post to the forum now and see your shiny new sig.

Note: if you already have a sig and would like to use the dynamic sig, simply delete your sig from your profile and the dynamic one will take over!
